Hi, I'm Lovie, the fourth of eight kids. When I was asked to list my babysitting experiences, I honestly couldn't remember, having been a built-in babysitter all my life and the go-to for all my parents' friends!

Not that I minded -- I absolutely love children. My first memories were watching my siblings being born, changing their diapers, cleaning their umbilical cords, and teaching them to walk.

I love their innocence, their questions, their honesty, and their joy. They're just so infectious, and being around them never fails to put a big smile on my face. I can't wait to meet yours! :)

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been volunteering with younger children at camps and church since I was 15. Ages ranged from 6 months - 17 years old! I've also been babysitting for as long as I can remember, tutored from ages 14-19, and chauffeured for a family while in college (aged 21-22).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoors, I love playing games, talking, singing, dancing, making our own playdoh or other fun things in the kitchen, building with k'nex, lincoln logs, or legos, building forts, or dressing up and putting on shows.

Outdoors, I love to bike, walk, play tag, soccer, volleyball, or really anything that engages them!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is being patient and kind. And the only way to have an inexhaustible well of patience is to put yourself in their shoes. I remember when I was the kid with 1,000 questions an hour! I also wanted to know how the world around me worked. When I think of it that way, it's easy and fun for me to participate in them exploring and learning :)
