A little bit about me

I grew up in a big family, (I have 20+ younger cousins) so l've been watching kids since I was a child myself.
But I didn't start professionally babysitting until I was 14. Since then I've volunteered with daycares for children with Down syndrome and autism, which taught me how to adapt to a child's specific needs.
Outside of Nannying I am a part time student at SLCC. I take all online classes so my schedule is completely flexible. One class in particular that l'm taking is Nutrition, which has taught me how to make healthy meals. I spend most of my time outside, skiing, hiking, and camping. When it's allowed I love to take children out on activities, it's good to get them moving (plus it tires them out!).

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have a wide variety of activities for kids, depending on their age and interests. For toddlers, I make sure to give them a lot of attention and interaction, usually playing pretend games. If I need to distract them for a minute, I’ll usually hide little toys around and do a “treasure hunt”. For older kids there are a lot more crafts you can do. Hand sewing little stuffed animals is always a favorite with other kids I’ve babysat, as well as making jewelry, baking, or science experiments. I also do a lot of outdoor activities, like going on nature walks and collecting leaves and flowers, or going on bike rides.
