Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During the summer I worked as a tennis instructor for ages 4-18. I not only taught kids how to play tennis, but I took them from location to location on campus. I created fun new activities to keep them entertained. I helped make sure kids were safely picked up by the correct family. I made sure the kids were safe and nice while playing.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating new arts and crafts, or reading, and or playing with the kid's toys with them. If possible I love going on walks with them (I call them little adventures to help keep them active). I also like taking them to the park.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the children are always safe and happy, and that they have fun and learn new things safely and correctly. I think that they learn through critical thinking and enjoy what they are doing makes for a great day!
My experience with special needs children...
I my second youngest niece lives with us and was diagnosed with high-functioning autism. So when I am home I help watch her and work on verbal and physical cues. I also make sure she has her comfort foods, as well as making sure she is involved in safe play. At BGCA I also get a background of different kids, and have learned how to help with different breakdowns and situations.

When the children learn a new skill or find something that they think is cool and entertaining and they show you.
