I worked at daycare during my high school career and I was the neighborhood babysitter for about five years. I babysit for my sister who has a newborn, one year old, four year old, and eight year old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am a creative writing major so reading and writing is my level. I love exercising and a swing set. I am a pretty quick thinker for activities to get those feet moving and brains thinking.
The most important part about being a nanny...
is what you leave behind for the children. I never had a nanny just my older sister. I believe that a nanny can help a child find new views and talents that being around family may not. A nanny can also serve as a safe place for a child who may be struggling and not wanting their parents to know.
My experience with special needs children...
While I have not had much, I was in chare of the first special needs child to be inducted into the daycare that I worked at in high school. I will admit it was a challenge but he was one of the sweetest children I knew and I always put my best foot forward to help him anyway I could.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was a nanny for one of my neighbor's daughter. I had never seen hairspray so she insisted I watch it. Well she sang just about every song and then promptly fell on the floor and went to sleep. I enjoyed watching her dance around and be silly. Grownups need more silly moments in life.
