More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 6 years of nannying experience in the suburbs of Chicago and in Iowa, which I balanced while obtaining my bachelor's degree in Psychology. During this time, I cared for children of various ages, providing attentive, compassionate care and fostering a nurturing environment. Currently, I work as an ABA therapist, where I’ve gained over a year of experience working with children aged 2-9 who have Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental delays. This role has deepened my understanding of child development and equipped me with specialized skills in behavior management and individualized care.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time with kids doing a mix of fun and educational activities. Whether it’s playing outside, going on nature walks, or kicking a ball around at the park, I’m all about keeping kids active and enjoying the outdoors. I’m also a big fan of arts and crafts—painting, drawing, or making fun DIY projects together is always a hit. Reading stories is another favorite of mine; it’s a great way to spark a love for books. I also enjoy coming up with sensory play and interactive games that match each child’s interests and needs. One of the things I really enjoy is getting to know each kid’s unique interests and finding ways to work that into our play, making sure every moment we spend together is fun and meaningful.
The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part about being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with each child and their family. It’s about creating a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued and understood. I believe that being attentive to their individual needs, interests, and personalities helps foster their growth and confidence. It’s also essential to support and communicate openly with parents to ensure we’re all working together to provide the best care. Ultimately, being a nanny is about making a positive impact on a child’s life and helping them feel loved and supported every day.
My experience with special needs children...
I have over a year of experience working as an ABA therapist, primarily with children aged 2-9 who have Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this role, I’ve worked closely with each child to develop personalized behavior plans that support their growth and help them reach their goals. My work involves a lot of one-on-one interaction, where I focus on building trust and understanding their individual needs. I’ve also learned to be patient, flexible, and creative in finding ways to engage them in activities that are both enjoyable and beneficial. My experience has given me a deep appreciation for the unique strengths and challenges each child brings, and I’m committed to providing a supportive, positive environment where they can thrive.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Over the years, I’ve had so many enjoyable and impactful moments as a nanny, but one of my favorites was helping one of my kiddos learn to ride a bike for the first time without training wheels. They had been feeling left out because they couldn’t join their older siblings on bike rides, which was really tough for them. We spent time practicing together, and when they finally took off on their own, the pride and joy on their face were unforgettable. After that, we were all able to spend a lot of time riding together, which made it even more special. It’s moments like these that make nannying so rewarding for me.
