A little bit about me

Hello! I'm Maddie. I am originally from Chicago but moved to SoCal in 2020. I graduated from Illinois State University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in special education. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in social work with an emphasis on school therapy. My special education and social work background allows me to connect with children of all ages and abilities. I am highly empathetic, patient, fun-loving, and creative. After earning my bachelor's degree, I worked for four years in a therapeutic day school for children with emotional and behavioral challenges. I helped the students with academics and taught social-emotional skills. I am skilled in de-escalation techniques and behavior management. I worked as a tutor and nanny for two young boys after moving to LA. I helped with tutoring, meal prep, transportation, and more. I worked with the same family until this past summer. The boys are much older now, and I hope to work closer to home. Thank you!

I have a bachelor’s degree in special education. Although I’ve worked with various disabilities, I have the most experience with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and emotional/behavioral disabilities.
