A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Madelyn, I’m currently taking a break from school, hopefully looking for a long term babysitting job. I’ve had a lot of experience with different age groups and absolutely love kids. I also have two younger sisters so I’ve really always had experience with kids growing up. I used to work at Chickasaw Country Club’s Daycare here in Memphis! As a Daycare Worker, I have a well-rounded skill set in process development, the ability to think very fast in a busy environment and the patience to help kids understand and know right from wrong. In my free time I normally go to Arkansas to visit my family, my boyfriend and I go fishing, ride bikes and love going to Shelby farms.

My last recent job was a daycare attendant at Chickasaw Country Club. I dealt with ages 1-6 and absolutely loved it.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Normally I like to play matching card games, or in my experiences the kids have their own imagination as to what we will be doing. For example, the last 4 year old girl I babysat, we pretended to be singers and she was a “rock star” and sung me songs. Another thing I like to do is take them outside, maybe to the park and let them enjoy fresh air.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I personally love being a nanny because kids/ babies are so new into the world and are so playful and smart when it comes to figuring out who they are and what they want to do. I think the most important part about being a nanny is being patient and open. Kids are normally scared at the thought of being left by their parents, and I feel like if you open up around them and be silly, showing they can trust you is an essential part to this job. Making the kids/ babies feel comfortable around you is what will make them your best friend.
