A little bit about me

I am a college student who has grown up with four siblings, two older and two younger. I have a passion for becoming an ASL interpreter and hope to get a Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language studies. I am an avid outdoorsy person, from roller skating, to hammocking or lounging under the sun, I love to be outside! I also love learning new things and digging into my creative side! I took a painting class and want to learn more about art! My hobbies include playing frisbee, crocheting and reading when I am not doing school work!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was apart of the youth group at a church I attended a few years back. I was one of two volunteers that worked in serving kids on a few Sundays and loved hanging out wit the kiddos. I would prepare snacks for them, hang out with them, play some games and make sure they were happy and safe! I also watch neighbors kids, my family and other family friends kids when needed.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to play with bubbles, chalk, bikes, scooters, football, basketball, you name it, I will probably enjoy it! Just being outside, being creative and being active is the best fun!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is making sure you provide a comfortable, safe but fun environment. To lead by example and show what a good leader looks like and does. A child looks up to those who are caring for them and it's important to let them show independence but also to show what a good person looks like and to let them have fun with creativity and imagination in a safe atmosphere.

My experience with special needs children...

I have not had any experience with special needs children but they deserve the same love and respect as everyone else and I would never shy away from caring for any child!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Playing in the imaginary, fantasy world with kids as a dinosaur, princess, clown, or any fictional character they want me to be I will be to make a kid laugh and have fun. It is the best feeling when someone is genuinely laughing and smiling when having fun.

Hello! I recently moved to Portland, leaving behind my wonderful job as a preschool teacher of 3 years. Before that, I gained valuable experience working in both elementary school and daycare settings. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and have taken several early childhood education/development classes. have a patient, kind, and gentle approach, and I am always eager to continue learning and growing in my practice. I embrace a child-led, Montessori-inspired philosophy, with a strong emphasis on supporting each child’s personal, social, and emotional development.
