A little bit about me

Nurturing a child's curiosity and watching them reach new milestones is my greatest professional passion. With 10 years of experience caring for children aged newborn to 21, I provide a calm, patient, and creative environment for up to four children. My background includes Early Child Development Coursework and hands-on experience with special needs children, ensuring I can meet each child's unique requirements. I hold CPR Training and First Aid Training certifications to keep your little ones safe. I am happy to assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, carpooling, and crafts. Since I am a skilled swimmer, I would love to supervise pool time and teach your children to swim. I am very comfortable enforcing your household rules and will always follow your preferred communication method. I look forward to becoming a positive, reliable partner in your family's daily life.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to childcare, I have been a respite care provider, elementary school teacher, and paraprofessional. Perhaps my greatest achievement is becoming a mom to a sweet and spunky little boy at the end of 2023.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating activities that truly bring joy to a child. Each child has their "thing" and when you can center their world around their passion it is so beautiful to see the joy and excitement in their day to day lives.

The outdoors is personally my happy place. I love walking and exploring nature with kiddos and seeing them discover the beauty and wonder our world has to offer.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is shouldering the responsibility of creating and maintaining a beautiful loving and nurturing village for all of the children and families I support. It is so important for me to support a world where love and kindness are fostered and celebrated and I truly enjoy my role in helping families achieve similiar goals.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for a diverse range of children with both medical and developmental disabilities. I have predominantly worked with children with ADHD, ODD, and ASD. In addition I have worked with individuals with Down Syndrome GDD, Cystic Fibrosis, HIE, Conduct Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

From each of these children I have added a variety of tools to my toolbox including tube feeding, behavior management skills, ABA strategies, routine hygiene care, toileting including catheter care, Hoyer lift experience, elopement management and prevention, CPI and other deescalation crisis management techniques and most importantly love, compassion, and PATIENCE!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Perhaps my favorite moment as a nanny was when a kiddo with ASD was able to speak to me for the first time. He was nonverbal and used a letter board to communicate and could only fully communicate with his language teacher and mother. After a year of working together he was finally able to generalize this skill with me. In a single beautiful moment this barrier was gone and a years worth of love and gratitude and silly asides came pouring from this young man's hands. He thanked me for all the books we read together, our history lessons, my jokes, he complimented my singing, the list goes on and on. To this day it brings tears to my eyes.
