More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During the summer of 2018, I worked with a non-profit called All of Us Care in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. All of Us Care hosted an extended-school year program that helped to provide a safe, stable place for children to be when outside of school. Through the program, I was able to work one-on-one and in large group settings with children between the ages of seven and seventeen. We went on field trips, created crafts, played games, and did community service projects.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I have a ton of favorites, but I love trying to get the kiddos outside as much as possible. That's always what I enjoyed the most as a child and I feel like I learned so many amazing things just by watching the world! I also love making crafts, playing games, singing, dancing, and anything that they may enjoy!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I absolutely adore watching how much a child can grow and evolve into such a great person over time! They learn so quickly and have so much enthusiasm, I think it should inspire adults to view the world in the same way!
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience working with special needs children while working for Americorps in Pittsburgh. We had a special program for the children that needed some extra help and I had the chance to be able to work directly with some of those amazing kids! I mainly worked with children that had ADHD/ODD, Autism, and some mental health issues.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was working with a family over the summer and they had a little girl that had just turned three for her birthday! We had a huge celebration and I was able to help out with the party planning, and she insisted that it was princess themed! Pretty normal for a little girl, but the rule was that EVERYONE attendee needed to be wearing a dress, so it became quite comical when the father and grandfather showed up. I definitely miss those moments with families!
