A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Majalya. I just moved to NWA with my husband and am loving the area. I love being outdoors, cooking, and yoga. I’m a wellness coach and herbalist as well! I have a degree in Environmental Science and look forward to being a paleobotanist one day!
I first became a nanny because I love fostering young imagination. It’s so interesting to think that our actions can affect their future. Because of this, I prioritize nourishing the mind, body, and soul of others, especially those most in need of love, like children. That being said, I’m very respectful of parent’s wishes and boundaries! I love to read books, make crafts, play outdoors, and excite ingenuity! You’ll find creativity is one of my strong suits!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In college I ran an after-school care program for children at Title I Elementary Schools. I taught gardening and nutrition in a way that fostered excitement for nutrition, physiology, soil science, botany, and more, without introducing dangerous food mindsets. We built garden boxes, planted and nourished seeds, and even sold produce in the afternoon pick up line. I worked with students from many backgrounds and loved my time with them!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

reading, crafts, puzzles and board games, walks/hikes, bike rides, age appropriate cooking and baking, and playing along with their imagination!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building a relationship that shows children they are deserving of love, respect, and creativity.

My experience with special needs children...

Though I have never professionally nannied for a special needs child, I do have younger siblings with autism. I also have personal experience (either from my own life experiences or from those I have lived with) with sensory processing disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and bipolar. I can work alongside others to create the best balance of cohesion. I understand nuances of unique care and want to help everyone feel loved and cared for. I find it is important to work alongside those with different abilities than my own, instead of forcing my idea of how the world should operate onto them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I was taking a two year old to the library, and as we sat outside eating lunch, a man walked in. The kid jumped up and said, "We have to go! We have to get 'Dexter Dino' before that man!" I've never laughed so hard. It was so adorable how passionate he was about his favorite book.
