The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a caretaker of children is to enjoy spending time and making memories that children learn from and cherish. Early childhood is such an integral aspect of a child’s entire life, so ensuring that children learn and experience meaningful lessons and have opportunities to grow is so important. Sharing in and creating those experiences for children is the most special part about being a caretaker!

My experience with special needs children...

I have spent several years in an early childhood center where I have cared for a number of children with outstanding need. I have made very close relationships with my students, and their families, who have had ASD, ADHD, and other needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love to sing with my students, and even on my own, while working in the classroom. I spent time working in a preschool room at my center with the same group of students for about 3 months. Because of my love for singing the song “A Whole New World” and other songs in class, the students began calling me Ms. Hummingbird and would greet me by that given name every morning. I continue to be called this nickname by several of my students in the center and it fills my heart with joy every time I hear it because I love singing and sharing music with my students!
