A little bit about me

Hello I’m 18 years old, my name is Makayla Altamirano. I have acquired a love for children growing up in a household of four. I watch children of all ages, including infants. Growing up I Spent a lot of time with my God brother who has autism and is partial deaf making me very good with children with special needs. I am very patient and proactive my only goal is to help them be the best that they can be. Being active and creative with the children is no problem. I am very organized and focused, and try to do my best on every job. Housework and cooking is no problem at all. I’m no five star chef but I can follow a recipe like Gordon Ramsey. I’m not CPR certified but I have a lot of experience watching small children and know what to do in case of any case of emergencies. I have many references who would tell you I am the one for you.

I have experience volunteering at church’s youth center and being a counselor for the kids, also have a standing weekend job as a babysitter for a 2 year old. I also have previous babysitting experience for children between 9-13.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some indoor activities I like to do are game board or drawing. Anything to draw out their creativity and personality. Outdoor activists like the pool, park or a walk. A nice day outside is a call for adventure.

Being a second pair of hands for the parents, and present for the children.

My experience with special needs children...

While In ROTC in high school I led the special needs group in physical training. I’ve volunteered for children with Down syndrome and autism. I am very patient and well aware of the challenges some children may face. My goal is to make them as comfortable as possible while teaching them to grow themselves in confidence.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My most memorable babysitter/nanny was when a 2 year old boy that I frequently watched started to walk and say numbers and colors after weeks of practicing. This is my most memorable moment because he was so happy, throwing high-fives and fist bumps all over the place with a huge smile and the deepest belly laughs.
