I nannied all of last summer for a wonderful family. They had two boys in elementary school. I've nannied on an off with a family. She was 1 year old. Before moving, I nannied for a family with a 8 and 2 year old girls.

Crafts, video games, playing outside, make believe, swimming, drawing, running around, exploring, going on walks, watching a show.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think it's important to spend time with the kids and play what they want. If they want to run around and make a mess, with in reason, I'm down to clean it up (with their help of course). If they want to color allover a piece of paper and call it a dragon, then it is a dragon. Imagination in kids should be kept high, especially in this world where it can be easily crushed.
My experience with special needs children...
I have never worked with special needs children, but I have worked with an adult with Downs Syndrome.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Every time I went to their house, they would run out the door and jump and climb on me. It was fun to see how excited they were. Children aged 8 and 2.
