Although I have never been a nurse or worked in a school, throughout my life I have always been the designated babysitter! Whether it's at a wedding, a birthday party or a neighbor that just needs some extra support, those around me have always seen that I have a way with children and if given the opportunity to spend time with adults or children, I will always choose the latter!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am very artistic and I love being outdoors whenever I can! I am very aware of the difficult effects of being inside glued to a screen, so I absolutely would rather find a craft or project do to that brings their imagination to life! I would be so excited to learn about your children's interests and spend quality time doing what they love the most! I am someone that will encourage children in all of their hopes and dreams, and I think playtime should reflect exactly that!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Personally, the most important part to me about being in any child's life is that they feel safe and supported. I have seen firsthand what the wrong kind of care for a child can do developmentally, so I strongly believe that cultivating a safe and calm environment is extremely important. As a nanny it is my job to be there for them for whatever they may need- a bedtime story, a dance party, a craft outdoors, or a safe place to just be.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with people and children from all walks of life, and I have found that some of my very favorite people on this earth are special needs. I am patient and kind, and I understand that everyone has their own pace of how they do things. My job would be to support however I can, not to rush or overwhelm! I am passionate about being a safe person for anyone, whether they need a hug or a sandwich! :)
