While I have never worked as a nanny, I have employed several and am fully aware of the dynamic. I can cook healthy, kid friendly meals (Any meal i prepare must have protein, Veggies/fruit, and a carb so children can get the necessary nutrients and learn to eat healthy.) I currently run my own store that sells mostly anime collectables and it makes it easy to relate to kids (because Pokemon.) Personally, I follow the gentle parenting technique with my kids and have had amazing results. I believe that positive reinforcement helps kids learn to redirect negative behavior while still feeling safe and that they can be honest with adults. For example, time out is not a punishment, rather a time to take a break, reevaluate their behavior, and think of another way to handle the situation that got them there.
