Hi! My name is Mandy Mahen and I am a 20 year old girl studying Early Childhood Education and Special Education at Slippery Rock University. I have worked at two child care centers, Meadville Children’s Center and Kinder-care Learning Center, over the course of three years. I am currently employed at Chrichelle’s Childcare and Preschool. I have all of my PA state clearances and am CPR certified as well as trained in first aid. I am also trained as an infant teacher, and have experience caring for infants. I am looking for part time employment as a baby sitter for children as young as 6 months to 10+ years old. I am very energetic, friendly, enthusiastic, organized, and excited to potentially care for your children!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a school age teacher at Meadville Children’s Center for one year. I also was employed at Kindercare Learning Center Moon East for a year as a float teacher. I worked with infants as young as 6 months old, toddlers, preschool students, pre-K children, kindergarten, and school-age kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy playing with children utilizing a variety of toys, whether it be educational or for enjoyment. I love to foster creativity within young learners through imaginative play. This may look like playing with Barbie dolls or toy people to create imaginative scenarios. I also find dress up to be an enjoyable activity for children. If weather permits, I find games involving physical activity to be very beneficial for children. I find that children really enjoy drawing with chalk, playing tag, riding bikes, and playing with water via hose or sprinkler. I am always looking for new ways to entertain children and to educate them in the process.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about working in the childcare field is ensuring all of the children’s interconnected needs are met and more. As a childcare worker, my goal is to serve the whole child by providing them with care, attention, love, and nurturing.

I interned under a special education teacher in an elementary school where I helped the children practice their math and literary skills.

My favorite moment when working with children has been getting to see how the children grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually throughout the year.
