Hi! I'm Marci; an enthusiastic, kind and patient caregiver with over 15 years of experience working with children of all ages in a variety of settings looking for my first ever nanny job. I am passionate about creating and carrying out meaningful experiences for children; ranging from arts and crafts to recreation-based activities, always being engaged in every part of process. I graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education, wanting to work with children outside a traditional classroom setting. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have cared for children in a variety of settings; mostly as an experienced swim instructor as well as an aid in other recreation-based activities. I also have experience working with children as a before and after school/care counselor and a children's bookseller.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Anything recreation based; getting exercise or movement in, being in the pool is a favorite as an experienced swim instructor. I also enjoy looking at and reading books, doing a variety of arts and crafts activities, and being outdoors with children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me; the most important part of being a nanny is being adaptable, patient, understanding of the child(ren's) needs.

I have many years of experience working with children with special needs but no formal training.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment working with children was when I started teaching swim lessons. I was teaching a beginner level swim class for children who were 4 to 6 years old. I had a girl in my swim class who had never been in the water before and I recognized how timid and even uncomfortable she was. Once she was more comfortable being in the water after the first lesson; she told me she wanted to put her face in the water like her classmates. She came to the next lesson with a pair of goggles; in which I made sure were fitted correctly and slowly but surely she put her face in the water. She learned how to blow bubbles and anytime she went underwater; with her classmates and myself she created a system of talking while blowing bubbles. She became more comfortable and it brought excitement to her classmates once she told them what she was doing. Many years later when I help new swimmers go underwater for the first time; I use the talking in bubbles method this swim student created.
