Hello, there! My name is Marena. I am a lifelong Jesus follower with a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and Christian Education. My mission is to nurture children and empower families to reach their full potential. I grew up serving in Children's Ministry at my church, where I discovered my passion for noticing the potential in others and working to cultivate it. I have 10+ years experience working with children ages birth - 5th grade as a camp counselor, Lead Preschool Teacher, Lead Infant/Toddler Teacher, Sunday school teacher, nanny, homeschool teacher, and tutor. I have worked with children who have special needs, twins, and for nationally accredited childcare centers. In my free time, I love exploring outdoors; reading; music; DIY projects; painting; coffee; and quality time with my people and my dog (I'm comfortable with animals!). Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Hands-on and open-ended experiences are important for children's healthy development! After getting to know a child (their experiences, temperament, likes and dislikes, and areas of strength and growth), you can find me intentionally supporting their individual development. Indoors, I often utilize crafts, fine motor activities (think beads, play dough), gross motor activities (think dance parties, homemade obstacle courses), reading, and imaginary play (which I do not interrupt unless invited by the child!). Outdoors, I love chalk, nature walks, biking, playgrounds, and picnics. Locally, there are wonderful enrichment locations and activities. I adore the park systems, libraries, orchards, zoo, and other such resources. If comfortable, I have also watched children at my home occasionally. - my previous preschool age charges affectionately requested trips to "Daisy's House," where we might do special messy crafts, baking, and play with my sweet and kid-loving boxer mix dog, Daisy.
