A little bit about me: I graduated two years ago with my bachelors in neuroscience and behavior, and a minor in psychology. I love the sciences and I believe learning should be a lifelong process. English is my first language, but I am also fluent in Spanish; I am in the process of learning Portuguese.

I adore working with children. In high school, I took a liking to early childhood education and this carried this interest into college where I studied behavioral psychology and neurological development. I’ve always marveled at the ways children are constantly changing and learning about the world from such a unique perspective.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have always been the informal nanny within my family given the age gap between my siblings and I. From a young age I tried to get them outdoors and engaged in activities outside of screen time. As they have gotten older, my job as an older sister has changed. I am no longer helping with feedings and changing diapers, but rather I am helping with homework, pick-up and drop off to and from school, etc.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have always read seasonal/holiday themed books to my sisters since they were little. Going to book store is a tradition that I tried to establish in efforts to get them interested in the world of literature, while also giving them a sense of autonomy as far as choosing what interests them.
I also enjoy taking children and teens to science museums and local parks to crank out some energy while learning about the world around them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My priority as a nanny is being present for the children no matter how hectic my schedule is. Being present can be demonstrated in so many ways that can be impactful for them, big or small. So I try to be consistently present physically and emotionally for all of the children in my life.
