A little bit about me

Hi Parents,

My name is Maria, I am an experienced nanny who is looking for a loving family in the Noe Valley or surrounding neighborhoods. As a Diamond Heights resident of 25+years, I have explored all the best age-appropriate parks and recreational activities these hills have to offer! My primary language is Spanish and speak English pretty well. I would love to join a family who would appreciate me teaching their child Spanish as this is a really great way to connect with the SF community.

I am looking to join a share-care arrangement and have experience working with two families but open to working starting off with one family in the meantime. I'm available for on-call and date nights as well.
I have excellent references upon request!

Looking forward to meeting your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 25 years of experience caring for children in private homes, including newborns, infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. My responsibilities have included feeding, diaper changes, naps, creating age-appropriate activities, reading, playtime, helping with routines, and supporting children’s early development.

I have cared for children from different families and have provided loving, reliable, and consistent care while creating a safe and nurturing environment. I also have experience working closely with parents to follow their preferences and support their child’s individual needs.

Esta respuesta te queda muy bien porque menciona lo que más valoran las familias: recién nacidos, rutinas, desarrollo y confianza con los padres.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I truly enjoy spending time with children and finding activities that make them feel happy, curious, and confident. I love reading stories, singing, doing simple crafts, going for walks, exploring outside, playing at the park, dancing, and creating fun learning moments throughout the day.

Over the years, I have learned that children learn so much through everyday experiences, so I enjoy turning simple things into opportunities for growth — whether it is talking together, helping them discover new things, practicing their skills, or encouraging their imagination through play.

I especially enjoy getting to know each child’s personality and interests, because every child is unique. My goal is always to create a loving, safe, and positive environment where children feel cared for, respected, and excited to learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating trust, safety, and a loving environment where children feel supported, valued, and able to grow.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for a child with special needs. She was deaf and non-speaking and had a cochlear implant. I supported her daily care, accompanied her to therapy appointments, and helped create a safe and nurturing environment. I am not certified in special needs care, so I want to be honest that I do not have specialized training for children who require advanced medical or therapeutic support.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are the small, everyday moments when I see a child learning, growing, and becoming more confident. One of the most rewarding feelings is when a child who was once shy or unsure begins to trust me, opens up, smiles, and feels comfortable in my care.

I also love the moments when children reach new milestones — their first words, new skills, their excitement when they discover something new, or when they proudly show me something they have learned. Being part of those special moments and knowing that I helped create a safe and loving space for them is what makes being a nanny so meaningful to me.
