A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Mariah! I am currently finishing up my degree online in animal science. My passion has been compassion, I went from wanting to be a veterinarian, to a park ranger, to now wanting to become an agriculture teacher. I’m a part time employee at The Boys and Girls Club. At the schools I have experience with kids ages 4-14 years old. I’m an activity leader so homework help wouldn’t be an issue! Although my work history with children may not be long; I do come from a big family. I was the second oldest out of 7. For a short period of time I was babysitting my two nephews ages 3 & 5. I’ve volunteered at The American Cancer Society Relay for life as well. Through those experiences I have learned to interact with a variety of age groups. Since I’m a seasonal employee, I am currently out of work until the first day of school. I have open availability my schedule is flexible till mid August.

I’m a craft girly, I’m pretty hands on and wouldn’t mind an active child at all. We can paint some flower pots and plant flowers. Play sports if the weather is right. I’ve taught my middle schoolers some riddles and how to make friendship bracelets. While they taught me TikTok dances. I understand every kid is different. I’ll try my best to get a better understanding of his or her personality and create an activity around what they’ll enjoy.

I have some experience (less than 1 year) with being cafeteria help and also assisting special needs instructors during fire drills and assemblies to and from the classrooms quickly and safely
