i have done lots of volunteer work back when i lived in washington for one of my local elementary schools, whether it was art day or i was helping out with the book fair!! before i got very busy during my senior year i also helped with plays, school holiday events and in the library!

my most favorite moment was when one of the little boys of a family i frequently babysat had a speech at school in his class on mother’s day. his mom wasn’t able to make it due to her busy work schedule, so i went instead! he read his letter to his class about his mom and at the end he points at me and says “she’s kind of my mom too, or maybe a sister. i don’t know! she makes me do my homework!” it made me very appreciative to have that bond with that little boy, and gave me a good laugh!
