A little bit about me

Hello! I’m Marie! I’m a stay-at-home mom, former elementary and ESE teacher, Montessori educator, and experienced babysitter and nanny. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Florida teaching license. Working with children has always been something I genuinely enjoy!

I currently homeschool my 6-year-old son, who is friendly, sociable, and loves spending time with other children. When appropriate, he may join me for jobs. I love the natural opportunities this can provide for children to play, communicate, cooperate, and build friendships together.

I enjoy creating fun, engaging experiences for children through reading, arts and crafts, baking and cooking, outdoor exploration, imaginative play, games, and hands-on activities.

As a stay-at-home mom, I have flexibility for daytime childcare and occasional date nights, and I can often be available on short notice. I prefer shorter childcare blocks of up to four hours at a time..

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience caring for and working with children in both educational and childcare settings. While in college, I worked in a Montessori school and later spent 14 years teaching kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade and ESE children with autism.

My experience also includes working in after-school programs, tutoring programs, and children’s ministry at church. I have provided tutoring for 14 years through an organization as well as independently, primarily supporting reading, phonics, and elementary math.

I have experience working with children of different ages, personalities, abilities, and support needs, and I especially enjoy creating fun, engaging, and nurturing experiences for children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading books and bringing stories to life, arts and crafts, baking and cooking, outdoor exploration, nature walks, backyard adventures, imaginative play, board games, puzzles, building projects, scavenger hunts, drawing, coloring, creating stories, and exploring children’s individual interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe children need plenty of time for free play, both indoors and outdoors, along with opportunities to explore, create, imagine, and simply enjoy being children. The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, calm, and nurturing environment where a child feels comfortable being themselves.

I want children to feel seen, heard, and cared for while encouraging their natural curiosity and independence. I believe the best childcare is built on connection, patience, play, and genuine enjoyment of time spent together.

My experience with special needs children...

As a teacher, I have cared for and supported children ages 1–8, including children with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and social and behavioral needs. My ESE teaching experience has included supporting individual goals, adapting activities to each child’s needs, and providing patient, positive, and consistent guidance. I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual and creating an environment where they feel safe, supported, and successful.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I genuinely enjoy being in the company of children—talking, reading, drawing, playing, teaching, and exploring together. One of my favorite parts of nannying is seeing a child happy and engaged when their parents come home, and being able to give parents peace of mind that their child had a wonderful day. I love helping make that transition from work to home feel calm and seamless.
