More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've been an educator and camp leader for the past 10 years. I currently teach at an alternative school for kids ages 5-15, and previously taught 5th grade at a public school. I have also run summer camps for all ages of kids. And, I frequently babysit for my young niece and nephew (ages 2 and 4).
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to do things that kids love! Crafting, cooking, exploring nature, playing with Legos, playing theater games, trying out engineering challenges and science experiments, writing stories, talking about whatever is on their mind... and so much more!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Balancing listening to kids and setting safe boundaries!
It's important to say no to kids when they have dangerous or tricky ideas, but I'm always looking to offer safer alternatives that affirm their impulses.
A kid wants to climb on a banister? I'll suggest building a "Floor is Lava" challenge out of pillows instead. A kid is running through a living room with breakable objects? I'll put on a Just Dance video or take them to the park.

My experience with special needs children...
I have experience teaching neurodivergent kids, including kids with autism, ADHD, and PDA profiles. I also attend a training every year to talk about best practices to support young people with these experiences. I feel comfortable and excited to connect and care for young people of any neurotype.
The most important part about being a nanny...
It's hard to pick just one! Honestly, my favorite moments are probably small exchanges where kids share about their thoughts, feelings, or how they see the world. I pride myself in showing every kid that their feeling and ideas matter!
