Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My relevant experience caring for children comes from both my professional and personal life. I’ve worked as a classroom teacher for grades K, 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 where I created structured, engaging learning environments while also supporting students’ social and emotional growth. Outside of the classroom, I’ve lived with a large family of six children ranging from 6 months to 18 years old, which gave me hands-on experience caring for all age groups, from feeding and soothing newborns to supporting teens with homework and daily routines. I’ve also helped foster a nurturing home environment by assisting with everything from diaper changes and bedtime routines to managing busy schedules and creating fun, developmentally appropriate activities. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt, multitask, and connect with children at every stage of development.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love spending time with kids and finding creative, active, and meaningful ways to connect. Some of my favorite activities include building blanket forts and diving into arts and crafts projects; there’s something special about watching their imaginations take off. I also enjoy getting outside for nature walks or scavenger hunts, and creating colorful sidewalk chalk murals together. When it’s time to wind down, I love reading books with them and acting out the characters, or baking simple recipes where they can help measure, mix, and of course, taste. These moments aren’t just fun; they’re great for building trust, confidence, and lasting memories.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting relationship with the child and their family. It means being reliable, keeping routines consistent, staying present and patient, and making sure the child feels safe and supported. Good communication with the parents is key too. Ultimately, it’s about being someone the child can count on.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I was nannying for two siblings who decided they were going to “open a restaurant” in the living room. They set up a table with plastic plates, created menus on construction paper, and assigned me the role of “very hungry customer.” I had to place multiple orders, complete with fake British and cowboy accents, and they’d run back and forth from the “kitchen” (aka the playroom) delivering pretend spaghetti, pizza, and something they called “rainbow soup.” They even gave me a bill at the end, $1,000 payable in Monopoly money. It was so silly and creative, and we laughed the entire time. Their joy was contagious, and I left that day with a full heart and a pretend doggy bag.
