A little bit about me

I’m a Minnesota native looking for a live-in nanny position in a warmer climate! While in high school, I received my CNA and worked on a memory care unit in a nursing home. After attending the College of St. Benedict, I started working as a live-in PCA/Nanny for a special needs child. I’ve worked in childcare settings off and on for the past two decades, and have taken continuing ed courses in Children’s Mental Health. I have two grown boys of my own, both with minor mental health challenges. My experiences have taught me how to be loving, patient, and supportive. I live a lifestyle free of alcohol and other non-prescribed substances, but I don’t judge others who choose a different path. I’m a multitalented creative individual and love teaching and doing fun activities with kids! I do have a well behaved 5 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog that I am very bonded with, and require a family who is open to him residing with me in a live-in position. He loves kids and is a great therapy dog.

The young boy I was a live-in PCA & Nanny for in the 90s had ASD. Every evening his mom allowed us to have “movie time” and every single night, he chose The Lion King! Both him and I knew the entire soundtrack. He was mostly non-verbal, but I would sing to him and he would hum along to the music. It was a special bonding experience for us both and a memory I will cherish forever.
