I would do volunteer work when I was in high school since we had a daycare on campus. When in my child psychology class we would learn and prepare for helping out with the kiddos. I remember asking to go and help the teachers, there I was able to experience what class rooms full of kids were like. But also how to get their attention and lead them to the next activity planned!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorite activities with kiddos involve the outside and arts and crafts, when I was younger that’s all I would do with my siblings! Though video games can be fun I feel that crafts help expand a child’s creativity.

When I was working with kiddos in summer camp I specifically sat down with one little girl who was waiting for her mom to pick her up. I noticed that she was alone and brought her some papers and crayons, we colored together while we talked. What stood out to me in this moment was when we finished coloring and she told me that she was going to make a book out of the pages! I helped her staple the sides and she ended up gifting it to me and said she wanted to color again together next time. This was a sweet act of kindness and I hope to bring that out of more kiddos in the future!
