I'm very creative so I have a wide variety of ways to keep them entertained and learning! From reading, drawing, music, and art to sports, video games, and imaginative play; I feel like the most important thing is to stay engaged and they will be too!
My experience with special needs children...
My youngest brother has Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, has a GI tube, and is a tracheo. I've had experience taking care of him and learning from his nurse. I've given medications, suctioned and changed his trache, set up his feeds and took care of him in both sick and postictal states. I also was a teacher's aide in high school and worked on baby ASL with a 5 year old with down syndrome.
