A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Maryam, I’m 19 years old, and I have over two years of paid experience working with children ranging from infants to school-age. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I’ve been passionate about childcare since I was 15, when I began studying early childhood education in high school. I also worked as a preschool teacher for a year, where I gained hands-on experience creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for kids. I truly enjoy supporting children’s growth and development while making sure they feel happy and cared for.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a former preschool teacher, one of my favorite parts of working with children was planning fun, hands-on lessons and activities around different themes. I love creating engaging experiences that keep kids busy, excited, and learning at the same time. Whether it’s crafts, games, or interactive play, I enjoy making each activity meaningful and enjoyable for every child.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

My favorite activities to do with children include spending time outdoors, especially during the summer. I love taking kids outside to play, whether it’s running around or having fun with water activities to keep them cool and active. I also enjoy teaching them how to make simple, fun recipes like salads or sandwiches, which helps them learn new skills while having a great time.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important parts of being a nanny to me are creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel comfortable and cared for. I value building strong, trusting relationships with both the kids and their families, while also encouraging learning, independence, and confidence. I believe in being patient, attentive, and engaging, making sure each child feels heard, understood, and happy every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have had some experience working with children with special needs, although it has been more limited. During that time, I supported them with important developmental milestones such as potty training and helped encourage them to feel more comfortable expressing themselves and speaking up. I always approach each child with patience, understanding, and a focus on building their confidence.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny experiences was caring for four girls at the same time. I loved planning a full day of fun for them, including an outdoor picnic with snacks and games, followed by a cozy movie night. We also spent time at the park, where I took them and their dogs on a walk together. It was such a rewarding experience being able to keep everyone engaged, happy, and cared for throughout the day.
