The most important part about being a nanny...
Having a set schedule and clear boundaries is very important to being a nanny. This allows the children to understand what each day will look like and create shared understanding of what my rules are. Clear communication between me and parents is very important. Rules need to be communicated and redirection for children needs to mirror parents expectations, as children must have a standard understanding of what is wrong/right! Most importantly I find being attentive and open to children creates the best bond between me and the kids, as long as they are safe and having fun i’m happy!
The most important part about being a nanny...
As a nanny you become a part of the family. The toddler that I was looking after started to call my name every time someone knocked on the door, the mom still texts me and lets me know that he misses me. It breaks my heart.
