A little bit about me

Hi! I’m Maya, a recent UC Davis graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology. I have experience working with children through the UC Davis Center for Child and Family Studies, where I supported children’s learning, development, and daily activities in a classroom setting. I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids and creating a safe, fun, and caring environment where they can learn, play, and feel comfortable.

I’m CPR, First Aid, AED, and BLS certified through the American Heart Association, and I’m responsible, patient, and dependable. My long-term goal is to become a Physician Assistant, with a passion for working in pediatrics. Whether it’s helping with homework, playing games, reading stories, or simply being a positive role model, I’m committed to providing quality care and giving parents peace of mind. I look forward to meeting your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to my professional experience, I have several years of babysitting experience caring for children of different ages. I’ve helped with meal preparation, bedtime routines, homework, playtime, and keeping children engaged in fun, age-appropriate activities while ensuring their safety. I also worked as a Classroom Assistant and Program Assistant at the UC Davis Center for Child and Family Studies, where I supported children’s learning and development in a classroom setting. My experience as a Dental Intern also gave me the opportunity to interact with pediatric patients and help them feel comfortable during their visits. These experiences have helped me become patient, dependable, and confident in caring for children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love spending quality time with kids and finding activities they genuinely enjoy. I like doing arts and crafts, reading stories, playing board games, building with LEGO, coloring, baking simple treats, and spending time outside at the park or in the backyard. I’m also happy to help with homework, watch their favorite movies, play pretend, or just be silly and have fun together. I think every child is different, so I enjoy getting to know their interests and planning activities they’ll be excited about. My goal is always to make sure they feel safe, happy, and have a great time while we’re together.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part about being a nanny is creating an environment where children feel safe, cared for, and comfortable being themselves. Every child is different, so I believe it’s important to be patient, listen to their needs, and build a relationship based on trust. I also know how important it is for parents to feel confident that their child is in good hands. My goal is to be someone children look forward to spending time with while giving parents peace of mind that their child is safe, supported, and having fun.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with children with special needs is both personal and professional. My younger brother is on the autism spectrum, so growing up I learned how important patience, understanding, and consistency are. Being part of his life has taught me to recognize that every child communicates, learns, and expresses themselves differently. Professionally, I also worked at the UC Davis Center for Child and Family Studies, where I supported children with a variety of developmental needs and learning styles. These experiences have helped me become adaptable, compassionate, and attentive to each child’s unique personality and needs. I’m always happy to learn from parents about the routines and strategies that help their child feel comfortable and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was working at the UC Davis Center for Child and Family Studies and watching a child who had been hesitant to participate gradually become more confident over the course of the program. Seeing them go from quietly observing to joining group activities, playing with other children, and proudly sharing their work with me was incredibly rewarding. It reminded me how much patience, encouragement, and a positive environment can help a child grow. Being able to celebrate those little milestones with them is one of the reasons I love working with children.

Vraj R. - Seeking Work in Ontario

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Ontario, CA: Vraj R.

Hi! My name is Vraj, and I'm a college student at the University of San Diego. I work great with kids and have over 3 years of experience working with young people. As an intern and small group leader at my church's youth ministry, I mentored junior high and high school students, led group discussions, and helped create a safe, supportive environment where kids felt comfortable opening up. I also spent two years assisting a high school volleyball coach with running drills and practices, so I'm comfortable keeping kids active, engaged, and having fun.

I'm patient, responsible, and a strong communicator. I've handled everything from planning weekly programming for large groups of students to volunteering monthly to prepare meals for those in need, so I know how to stay organized and dependable.

I'd love the chance to meet your family and see if I'd be a good fit. Thanks so much for considering me!
