More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Alongside my current role as a part-time nanny (est. 2021), and continuing my studies of elementary education. I have previous experience coaching young athletes in softball volunteering at my local Humane Society, where I worked with youth volunteers, and frequent babysitting for 10+ years. These experiences have reinforced my ability to engage with children of various ages, manage their needs, and ensure a safe, fun environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing creative and hands-on activities with children, such as arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, and whatever it may be there curiosity entails. Some “go-to” activities in my nannying experience would include parks, water parks, hikes, fishing/river time, and baking, etc. Whether it’s taking them on nature walks, helping with homework, or organizing fun group projects, I take pride and whole heartedly enjoy creating experiences and relationships with the kiddo(s) AND families, that are both fun and enriching.

My experience with special needs children...

Since 2021, I’ve had the privilege of caring for a 12-year-old with SYNGAP1, a non-verbal child who communicates using a talking device and some sign language. My role has involved learning to adapt to their communication style and supporting their favorite activities, like visiting the carousel, swimming, and spending time at the library. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, teaching me the importance of patience, creativity, and understanding when providing care to meet their unique needs while ensuring they always feel included and valued. Along with this I am perusing my special education endorsement and have been a peer tutor in special educational classroom setting since middle school.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a nanny was when the youngest child, who had been struggling with a challenging math unit for weeks, finally mastered it with my encouragement and help, along side. The look of pride on his face was priceless, and it reminded me why I love doing this, the reward is worth EVERYTHING… helping them achieve their personal milestones is incredibly fulfilling.
