A little bit about me

Hi! I’m McKenzie, a first-year nursing student at Southern Union Community College. 🩺💙 I have 5 years of nannying and babysitting experience and absolutely love working with children!

I’ve cared for children ranging from newborns to 10 years old and enjoy creating a fun, safe, and nurturing environment where kids feel comfortable and cared for. I’m responsible, dependable, patient, and love becoming someone families can truly rely on.

I’m CPR certified and have experience with everything from keeping little ones entertained and preparing meals to helping with routines, homework, and everyday activities.

I currently have a full-time nanny position Monday–Friday from 1:00 PM–6:00 PM, so I’m specifically looking for a family who needs help in the mornings or early afternoon. I’m available Monday–Friday in the mornings until around 12:30 PM.

I’d love to find a consistent family and build a great relationship with both the parents and kiddos! 💕

More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love riding bike and going on walks with kids also playing with them on playgrounds and just getting outdoors!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building a strong, trusting relationship with the child and their family. A nanny plays a vital role in a child’s daily life, not just as a caregiver but as a source of emotional support, guidance, and stability. Establishing trust allows the child to feel safe, loved, and understood, which is essential for healthy development. This relationship also extends to the parents, who rely on the nanny to be dependable, communicative, and aligned with their values and routines. By fostering a nurturing environment with patience, empathy, and consistency, a nanny helps create a foundation where the child can thrive both emotionally and physically.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience caring for a special needs child was both deeply meaningful and incredibly rewarding. I worked closely with a child who had autism, and it taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and understanding. Every day brought new challenges, but also beautiful moments of connection and progress—whether it was helping them express their feelings more clearly, guiding them through sensory-friendly activities, or celebrating small milestones that meant so much. I learned how to tailor routines to meet their unique needs, communicate in ways that made them feel heard and safe, and work collaboratively with their family and therapists. That experience truly deepened my compassion and shaped the way I approach caregiving with empathy and respect for every child’s individuality.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when a child I had been caring for finally rode a bike without training wheels for the first time. We had been practicing for weeks, and there were lots of falls, tears, and pep talks along the way. But on that particular day, the look of pure joy and pride on their face when they realized they were doing it all on their own was unforgettable. They screamed, “I’m doing it!” and I cheered louder than anyone. That moment reminded me how meaningful it is to be part of a child’s milestones and how rewarding it is to see their confidence grow.
