A little bit about me

My name is Mckinzy Eddie, but I prefer to go by Kenz. I am 17 years old (I turn 18 October 2025) and I am in school pursuing a High School diploma. I attend NMDCA (New Mexico Destinations Career Academy) and I am in the flex program because I am a GATE student. I am currently in a leadership internship with the Gallup Chamber of Commerce. When I attended Miyamura high school I was a Junior Engineering Ambassador. I am a very caring and patient person. I believe this is due to my upbringing with many pets and siblings. I currently have a 5 month old sister and an 11 year old brother who is on the spectrum that I take care of weekly. I like learning, arts and crafts, science, and volleyball. I plan to attend community college after high school to get my pre requisites done, then I would like to transfer to a University to pursue my chosen degree.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing enriching and immersive activities with the kids I look after. Activities such as science experiments, arts and crafts, sports, reading, imaginative play, etc. I believe doing these positively impacts the development of children and their imaginations.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is being a positive role model to the kids you take care of. The statement, “Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.” by Neil Postman really speaks to me because I do believe that we are responsible for shaping our children's minds and guiding them with love. As a nanny, I want to help children grow into confident, compassionate individuals. Especially in these times.

My experience with special needs children...

I have taken care of a child with high functioning autism and adhd. Through this, I have learned to be patient, reassuring, and attentive to individual needs. I understand the importance of consistency, clear communication, and creating a calm, supportive environment.
