A little bit about me

I graduated from Fordham University with a BS in Finance and Economics. I worked at Morgan Stanley for three years in internal audit. The monotony and nature of my role was not providing me with the satisfaction of impacting the business processes. I was serendipitously offered a position as a rowing coach aiding me in the process of moving on from Morgan Stanley. I was a coxswain for the Fordham crew team while in college. I accepted the position and began coaching a team of 50 middle school and high school students. After two years, I left coaching to nanny for a very well known family on Long Island. I was responsible for ensuring the execution of the day to day activities for eight children. After their nanny came back from maternity leave, I began working at Equinox as a personal trainer. I am no stranger to communication in many different settings and capacities. I believe in a health conscious life and have always had a vested interest in caring for others on a personal level.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

As a rowing coach I was responsible for the well being of all the children on and off the water. In rowing, inclement weather can arise suddenly, thus it is imperative to pay close attention to every child's location and be knowledgeable of their skill level. I was able to advise the students in transitioning from high school athletes into collegiate athletes. Being involved in the collegiate recruiting efforts was integral in creating relationships that were positive that were meaningful.
In addition, I was a nanny for a family of eight children. I primarily cared for the younger children whilst making sure the older children were p

The most important part about being a nanny...

Creating a warm and understanding environment that inspires confidence, growth, and positivity. Fostering a strong relationship with the entire family leads to the incredibly rewarding involvement in the development and growth of the child (children). The ability to create a bond with those under my care enables me to utilize my creativity to hone in on activities and subject matter that excites the mind of the child. Creating unique activities that are personal and interesting is an amazing way to impact the intellectual progress and behavior of the child. The aforementioned qualities that I can impart upon those under my care is paramount and truly important. Communication with mom and dad is a necessity as well as patience and consistency in caring for the child. Becoming a integral part of the family is important because it creates stability. Such a seamless integration into daily life establishes a solid foundation; the entire family can thrive.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for two children with ADHD. In addition, I cared for a child with dwarfism and a seizure disorder (controlled through medication). Lastly, I have watched and trained a teenager that has autism.
