More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve raised five children of my own, which are all grown and in their own homes now. I have lots of experience with kids who are dealing with ADD, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Downs Syndrome, Bipolar, Depression, Panic attacks, Anxiety, Twins, temper tantrums, potty training, sleep schedules…. Among many other bits of knowledge I’ve experienced on my journey through raising children!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, play time at the park, board games, visiting the museum, singing, dancing, movies, camping, daytime field trips ( museum, movies, bowling...)
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is knowing the parents can count on you and mostly… they trust you with their family, and trust you so much to help them raise their most precious possessions.
My experience with special needs children...
My son is autistic, diagnosed with Aspergers at 8 years old. My other son was diagnosed with dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, depression, and ODD. My daughter was diagnosed with bipolar, anxiety, dyslexia, and depression. My oldest son was diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 9. My nephew, whom I babysat until he was 4, has Downs Syndrome. I baby sat my bff's daughter, whose blind, for 6 years (3rd shift).
The most important part about being a nanny...
When the day came that my day care kids all hugged me to say goodbye, because I was taking a few years off to raise my own kids. They all made me cards and brought me flowers.
