My most relevant experience caring for children includes four years as a high school English teacher, several years as a lifeguard, working as an AP tutor, and choreographing school musicals with casts of 35+ students. In these roles, I was responsible for supervising children and teens, maintaining a safe and positive environment, helping with academic and personal needs, managing groups, resolving conflicts, and building trusting relationships with students and families. As a lifeguard, I was especially responsible for children’s safety and learned to stay attentive and calm in high-pressure situations. My teaching, tutoring, and choreography experience also taught me how to keep kids engaged, provide structure, and adapt to different personalities and needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing activities that are creative, active, and fun! I enjoy arts and crafts, reading together, baking and cooking, playing games, going to the park or pool, taking walks, exploring museums or libraries, and planning little outings and adventures. With my background in teaching and theater, I also love music, dancing, imaginative activities, and helping kids with creative projects. I’m happy to follow a child’s interests and find activities they genuinely enjoy, whether that means getting outside and being active or having a cozy afternoon with books, crafts, and movies.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is creating an environment where children feel safe, happy, supported, and comfortable being themselves. I think a great nanny is someone children can have fun with while also being a dependable adult they trust. It’s also important to build a strong relationship with parents through open communication, consistency, and respect for each family’s routines and parenting style. I want the children I care for to know that I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, care about what they have to say, and will always prioritize their safety and well-being.

My experience with special needs children...

As a high school English teacher, I taught co-taught classes that included students with a variety of special education needs. I worked closely with special education teachers to follow IEP accommodations, modify and differentiate instruction, provide additional support, and help each student feel successful and included in the classroom. This experience taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, clear communication, and recognizing that every child has different strengths and needs. I am comfortable following individualized routines and guidance from families and am always willing to learn the best ways to support each child.
