A little bit about me

I am originally from Los Angeles (born and raised in Redondo Beach). I went up to Oregon for my undergraduate degree (University of Oregon) before returning home to southern California in 2016. I’m currently living in the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach but plan on relocating to the South Bay (Manhattan/Hermosa/Redondo Beach) by the end of the year.
I have an extensive background in healthcare, especially in pediatrics. My positions at CHOC (Children’s Hospital OC) as well as with pediatric hospice patients have allowed me to work with children of all ages and prepared me for a multitude of medical emergencies. I also have background as a lifeguard, swim instructor, and private tutor.
The families I’ve worked with have loved my creativity, positive attitude, and organizational skill set (especially when it comes to attention to detail!) More About Me

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I specialize in any/all creative activities with children. These can range from pretend play to anything involving art or creation. For the younger children I have nannied, I have especially enjoyed designing sensory exploration activities that allowed them to get their hands dirty while developing cognitively. I love any outdoor activity, whether that be organized sports, nature scavenger hunts, trips to the park, bike/scooter races, or water play. For the older children I have nannied, I love any activity that lets them be creative. These activities can include designing your dream house, simple science experiments, making friendship bracelets, or designing then creating giant obstacle courses. I also enjoy cooking with children, allowing them to participate in any way that's age appropriate. Lastly, I love getting the children involved in all swim-related activities in the pool!

My experience with special needs children...

I worked full-time as a Patient Care Assistant, aiding a young woman with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) from June through November 2021. This position included caring for her special mental, physical, and emotional needs as the injury left her with significant cognitive impairments. This included assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, while maintaining a compassionate and patient demeanor to address her emotional fluctuations and difficulty with executive functions. I have also worked with children with various other physical impairments at CHOC Children’s Hospital such as spinal cord injuries, Cerebral Palsy, Type I and II Diabetes, and other types of mobility impairments (limited to wheelchair or bed).
I also have extensive experience working as a private tutor and mentor for children with severe ADHD. This position included teaching organizational skills and creating specific study techniques that addressed their time management challenges
