Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes my time working in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) department at a school, where I specialized in behavior management. In this role, I supported students with a range of disabilities, helping them develop positive coping strategies and supporting their academic and emotional growth. I am now a certified School Counselor and am currently in the process of being hired by a school. In addition, I’m a licensed Behavior Analyst with hands-on experience working closely with children of varying ages and abilities, particularly those with developmental and behavioral challenges. These roles have allowed me to provide both emotional and practical support to children in structured and compassionate ways.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I enjoy doing with children include spending time outdoors, whether it’s taking walks or going to the park to play and explore. I also love visiting museums with kids to encourage curiosity and learning in a fun way. Creative activities like arts and crafts are some of my favorites, as they allow children to express themselves and develop fine motor skills. Baking together is another activity I really enjoy—it’s a great way to teach patience, following directions, and of course, have some fun (and tasty) results! Overall, I love planning activities that are both enjoyable and enriching for children.

The most important part about being a nanny is respecting the parents' wishes and values while creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for their children. I believe clear communication and consistency are key to building trust with both the child and their family. Ensuring the child’s safety—physically, emotionally, and developmentally—is always my top priority, while also providing the care, guidance, and encouragement they need to thrive.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children is both extensive and deeply meaningful to me. I’ve worked in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) department within a school setting, where I focused on behavior management and individualized support for students with a variety of needs, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, Down syndrome, and other developmental or emotional challenges. As a licensed Behavior Analyst, I’ve developed and implemented behavior intervention plans tailored to each child’s unique goals and strengths. I approach every child with patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping them grow in a safe, supportive environment. These experiences have not only strengthened my professional skills but have also deepened my passion for working with children of all abilities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when a little girl I cared for told me I felt more like a sister to her than a nanny. It truly warmed my heart and reminded me of the deep bonds we can form with the children we care for. Knowing that I made her feel that comfortable, supported, and loved meant everything to me—and moments like that are exactly why I love this kind of work.
