Through high school I babysat regularly for family members and people in our church ward. I also worked in a gym daycare through my Junior year of high school. After that I became an aide for an Occupational and Physical therapist.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to draw and do small crafts. I am a very crafty and creative person! I would love to take them outside on walks or even to a park, I love to be outside! I am able to drive and would be willing if you were comfortable to take them out to do fun activities like a movie. If not I would keep them to the house, and make sure I always had something planned to keep them entertained!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the kids are always properly cared for is the top priority. To do that you always make sure the parents have full knowledge of what you are doing. If there are any gray areas you always make sure before you do. The kids should always be in your watch while you are on the clock.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with special needs kids as a peer tutor all 4 years of high school. Outside of that I worked in an OT office as an aide and helped her with any tasks I could. I have a lot of patience and a special place in my heart for these kids!
