Hi, I'm highly motivated people person and I really enjoy fun, educational activities with children of all ages. I have been a nanny and caregiver for 14 years working first as a preschool teacher, then as a nanny to two wonderful familes, and most recently as a caregiver for a family memeber with Alzheimer's. I like to do crafts, science projects and experiments, read, and explore the many museums, gardens, parks, and playgrounds that Sarasota has to offer.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a preschool teacher at Kids Academy of Copley from 2008 to 2008 until 2015 when I moved from Akron, Ohio to Sarasota, Florida. While at Kids Academy I was originally a pre-k teacher helper and gradually was promoted to being a lead preschool teacher for children age 4+. I also helped to schedule the school day off, after-school programs, and summer activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Reading books and going to the library. Educational activities like art, crafting, and science experiments. Cooking and baking. Playing with dolls, action figures, dress up, cars. Outdoor activities like bike riding, jump roping, and swimming. Exploring museums, gardens, playgrounds and parks.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is having fun while being mindful of all aspects of the child's needs and their parents wishes. Each day being a nanny is a new learning experience not only for the child(ren), but also for myself.

My experience with special needs children...

My center worked closely with the department of social services in Akron, Ohio and they brought in specialists who lead classes and instructional opportunities to help our special needs students. These resources included calming methods to help with aggressive behaviors and specialized activities for our students with varying degrees of autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have too many favorite moments with all my "kids" that I've worked with over the years. I still get letters and birthday calls from some of my grown up students who live in Ohio and I love being able to see how much they've grown. I really try to keep in contact with all my families as they become part of my own.
