My name is Melissa! I have been doing childcare for over 20 years. I have 3 children of my own and have worked with all age groups. I am one student teaching class away from having my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I truly love caring for children and being able to assist in their development. I was a teacher at many if the local centers. Although I appreciate the individualized care children can recieve when being a nanny.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing art projects, going outside, hands on sensory and motor development activities, and reading and telling stories. If it sparks the child's interest I am open to trying anything.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Caring for a child so they can grow and develop as happy, and as healthy as possible in a safe enviroment, is such a huge honor. As a caregiver I feel like the time you spend with them can make such an impact. It is not only rewarding but it is really making a big difference in their lives as well and the lives of the families you're working with.

My experience with special needs children...

My nephew is deaf and I have helped care for him since he was an infant. I have also taken college classes in special needs and child development. I have worked with a variety of children who needed individualized specialty care or while in a center had an IEP. I love learning new things and am willing to also take new trainings if needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I love every morning walking into my classroom at daycare and no matter the age of the children their faces light up when they see you. It makes me feel like its not even work.
