One of my favorite moments as a nanny was when a little boy I cared for, who was very shy at first and barely spoke to anyone, finally opened up to me. After a few weeks of building trust through play, books, and just being patient, he suddenly ran up to me one morning, hugged me tightly, and said, “You’re my best friend.”

That moment reminded me why I love doing this — it’s not just about routines or responsibilities, but about building real connections with the children and making them feel safe, loved, and confident in themselves.
