A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Melody. I’m a mom of one and have been caring for children since I was 12 years old, giving me approximately 18 years of childcare experience. Over the years, I’ve cared for children of all ages, from infants through teens, including children with disabilities and additional support needs.

I’m CPR & First Aid certified and pride myself on being dependable, patient, attentive, and providing a safe, comfortable environment for every child in my care. I have experience with everything from occasional date-night sitting to ongoing childcare, outings, meals, bedtime routines, and more.

I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your children, and I’m happy to provide references upon request. ❤️

"Melody has been the best nanny to our son, Cameron. From day one her calm energy and kind demeanor had Cameron gravitate towards her and created a warm and welcoming environment for them to bond. Melody was nannying 2-3 days a week for us until Cameron started Pre-School at 2 years old. We still utilize Melody for date nights etc., she is also fantastic with our 2 large dogs! Melody always had activities planned out, especially around the holidays to do art projects with Cameron, work on his coloring, flashcards, block building, etc. Melody has always been very flexible and communicative when she had questions and would ask to make sure that as the parents she knew our preferences and what we typically do. I believe that because she is a mother herself, it makes her that much more aware and strong as a nanny. She has become family to us and Cameron and we are beyond thankful to have her in our lives. I highly recommend Melody to anyone in need of a nanny or sitter, she is the best!"

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have volunteered at a daycare in Fort Pierce, where I primarily assisted with infants and toddlers. I also gained professional childcare experience working for a babysitting company before branching out independently. I now own and operate my own childcare business, providing babysitting and nanny services to families throughout the community. My experience includes caring for children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, school-aged children, multiples, and children with disabilities or additional support needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping children engaged with age-appropriate activities based on their interests and developmental level. Some of my favorites include arts & crafts, games, sensory activities, reading, movies, outdoor play, trips to the park, and fun outings/field trips.

With infants and toddlers, I enjoy tummy time, Montessori-inspired and developmental play, reading, music, and activities that encourage reaching, crawling, walking, and learning new skills. I’m also comfortable with bottles, diaper changes, naps, feeding, and following each child’s established routine.

I’m always open to incorporating activities, routines, or parenting preferences that are important to your family!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is making sure the children in my care are safe, happy, comfortable, and cared for. ❤️ I want every child to feel secure with me while still being able to have fun, learn, and be themselves.

I also believe consistency between parents and caregivers is extremely important. I respect each family’s parenting style, routines, rules, and boundaries. My goal is to care for your children the way you want them cared for—not come into your home and change what works for your family. Communication and trust between parents and myself are very important to me.

My experience with special needs children...

I have both personal and professional experience caring for children with disabilities and additional support needs. Growing up with a brother with autism gave me firsthand experience with understanding different communication, behavioral, and sensory needs. I have also volunteered at a daycare that specialized in caring for children with disabilities and medical needs.

Through my childcare work, I have cared for children with autism, ADHD, and varying developmental and behavioral needs. I understand that every child is different, and I’m comfortable learning and following the routines, accommodations, communication methods, and care instructions that work best for each individual child and family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments are when I walk through the door and am greeted with big smiles and excitement from the children I care for. There’s something so rewarding about building a bond with a child where they feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely excited to spend time with me. I also love watching them grow, reach new milestones, learn new things, and knowing I’ve had the opportunity to be a positive part of their lives. ❤️
