Hello , my name is Mia Andrews. I am 24 years old. I’m currently a student at Cal State San Bernardino to pursue a career in education as an elementary school teacher . I currently work for the yucaipa school district as an after school child care provider for tk. I have watched over 20+ students age ranging from 4-13 years old. I’m currently looking for a nanny job so I have something more full time. I have a certification in first aid and CPR training as well. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have babysat my nephew who is one year old, my 3 young toddler cousins, and my 8 year old step sister. I currently work at a before and after school program here in Yucaipa. I have experience preparing food, creating fun games outside and inside, making fun crafts, and most importantly keeping each student safe. I currently watch over around 20 students per day. I’m looking for something more full time. I also was a lifeguard for 3 years and with this experience it has made me be always alert and on guard when looking after young children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some indoor activities that I enjoy with children are fun crafts. I enjoy playing games like four corners, making forts, or even hide and seek. As for outdoor it’s always fun to play games like catch, freebees, or even fun imaginative games children make up!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think what the most important part about being a nanny is creating a strong bond and healthy relationship with the child/children and the family. I think without this there wouldn’t any positive outcomes for both the child/children and the parents. I also believe the most important part is protecting the children and keeping them safe at all times.

My experience with special needs children...

In high school I worked with special need children everyday. I had 2 classes which was a P.E class where the general education students paired up with the special education students. I helped my classmate socialize, create healthy friendships, and of course help and support them with physical activity. Then in senior year I was involved in a similar class but instead it was a drama class. We would help the special education students create plays, remember lines, practice social skills, help with extra homework/ class work they had, and create strong friendships.
