A little bit about me

I love working with children, I used to work at an elementary school as an after-school program leader for two years and am now a Behavioral Therapist working with children on the spectrum, and I'm currently in school for my masters to become a child therapist. I am the eldest of my one sibling and eight cousins, which is about nine people, and I've cared and watched after all of them, including the three youngest since they were born to now as young teenagers. I have lots of patience and a great imagination to work and play with them.
My current work schedule is a bit jam packed at the moment due to juggling school, work and my internship, but I am available Monday 8am-10am, Tuesday 8am-12pm, Wednesday 8am-10am, Thursday 12:30pm-5pm, and Friday 12:30pm-5pm.
Due to school, my schedule can be subject to change, but I will keep a current schedule of my availability.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I originally worked with elementary age students, TK-5th, and know how to handle each age group since not all children are the same with behavior or home experiences.
I currently work with a varying age group of 0-3yrs to 4-15yrs to 16-30yrs as a Behavioral Therapist for those on the spectrum.
I've also worked in the nursery at my church and have been a VBS teacher at my church for about seven years.
And being the eldest, I've looked after my younger brother and cousins, and the youngest ones I've cared, watched and played with since they were born to now as pre-teens.
And I've also looked after family friends children at my church from birth to ten years of age.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities I enjoy doing with children are hide and seek, arts and crafts, reading books, building pillow forts, and playing games (mostly board games, but also video games depending on the household), and don't drop the balloon.
Outdoor activities I enjoy doing with children are also hide and seek, tag or freeze tag, chalk drawing, during summer water balloons or playing in water in general, basketball, soccer, tennis, badminton, swings, trampoline, etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of a child. Always communicating with parent and child so there are never any misunderstandings. And giving a child the best possible care to help parents in the long run.

My experience with special needs children...

At my church, a lifetime family friend cares for teenage and young adult people with special needs and I've been in contact with them since I can remember. I know how to work and handle children with down syndrome, as well as autism (and how each type child is different on the spectrum and not all the same), tourettes syndrome, children with speech difficulties (non-verbal/sign language), muscle weakness', paraplegic children, and children with allergies, diabetes, and asthma.
At my current job, I work with many children on the autism spectrum, and not one child is ever the same, so I get to know them to better understand them and their needs.
One of my clients has epilepsy, so I am able to understand how to keep them safe through the seizure and what the next steps of care are once it is over.
