Taking care of children is definitely what I do best! I raised my four children, the last three being 20 months and then 18 months apart. I’ve been a nanny for four years. My first nanny job was with 18 month old identical twin boys. Since then I have worked with infants and toddlers from the ages of two months through 2 1/2 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Reading, both stories and books that help them learn, going for walks, holding them and dancing to nursery songs! I will bring music and maybe some books! I also really enjoy taking them to activities such as library story hours, etc. I have a car seat in my car to make it simple!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Giving lots of love and kindness, and supporting their confidence, while also helping them learn the rules as their parents see them. Learning their individual personalities and helping them learn to cope with ups and downs in ways that work well with their own personal being.
My experience with special needs children...
I am very knowledgeable about both type 1 diabetes (Omnipod and Dexcom), and pediatric Crohn’s disease! I have extensive experience dealing with the inattentive type of ADHD in children. I also have experience dealing with children on the milder side of the autistic spectrum.
