More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I've done the majority of my nannying in the front range of Colorado. I love that area because there are so many parks and beautiful weather to enjoy together.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
In the past I've enjoyed coming up with fun art projects and craft ideas that are age appropriate that focus on learning, creativity, and imagination.
Weather permitting I try and get the kids out everyday. Going to the park were they can socialize with other kids, play, and get their energy out in a healthy, fun, and safe way.
If they are old enough we enjoyed riding bikes to the park or going to a splash pad or wadding pool.
On bad weather days we would normally enjoy playing imaginative games, reading books, art projects, and cooking play.
I enjoy using the dollar store to find craft materials.
If I'm allowed to drive kids places, I have enjoyed bringing them to the library, community centers, zoo, and Childrens art museum. Basically anything that we can come up with for activities and fun, I'm all about it!

The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is having good communication between the families and myself.
I prefer to have straight forward house rules set up that I would need to follow and help enforce and remind children of and do it in the same way parents do and want me to so that there is understanding and respect between everyone.
My go to rule breaking discipline is time out on stairs. It's usually how ever many years the kids age the amount of minutes of time out/quite alone time.
After time out, the conversation is usually. "You know why?" And what can you do to avoid time out in the future type thing.
But I just want to do whatever the parents want in that way.

My experience with special needs children...
In the past I've taken care of children with health issues including severe allergies, autoimmune diseases, and painful itchy eczema.
Besides health problems, I've spent time taking care of one child with mild autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...
So of my favorite memories are when I have been able to invite old families to join my new families to do some shared baby share days. I really appreciated that I was able to mostly stay in similar neighborhoods so I was able to keep some of my kids that started to grow up and let them play with some of the younger kids I was more newly caring for.
