More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I took care of a little boy named David that was my first Nanny job he was severely autistic. I started that job about 10 years ago and I took care of him for a couple of years. His parents were a school teacher and a firefighter. The job was very rewarding and very challenging. I was very good at it. After a couple of years taken care of David I was able to get him to the point where he could go to school and be in a social environment. I think it's probably because of the way I was raised with an old school mom who is very Hands-On with her children and very much attentive to us in teaching us right from wrong and teaching us good manners and to be respectable and kind and loving and forgiving. I was very very proud of myself
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I went to culinary school many years ago so I do know how to cook and bake and also being Italian helps. I was a baker and a chef that was my life until I decided to move to Florida 23 years ago and being Nanny and a caretaker. I like to do all sorts of things. I have worked with little girls and little boys so it doesn't matter. I had a sister and I had a brother. I grew up with siblings and we were very close. I know how to play most games. The thing is to keep children entertained and to keep them happy but the most important thing for me is to keep the children safe. The boys like to watch movies with me. Also the boys loved it if I would take them out to eat. It was fun anything to make them happy. Just to watch them smile and be happy, that was my happiness.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important thing about being a nanny is protecting your child. That is what I am hired to do and that is what I am going to do. No matter what your child will be safe and happy. The most important thing is keeping your child positive and active and happy. They don't say children very long so I believe that their childhood is very important that they have happiness for as long as they are children. I also believe in teaching children good manners and to be kind and to be good boys and girls. I tell them how important School is. I let them know that if they are a good in school that they can be anything they want to be in their life.
My experience with special needs children...
Like I said earlier I took care of David who was severely autistic. That was probably the most challenging experience I ever had in my life. I did it well. And I am not a quitter I am a real trooper. I am very determined when a job needs to be done and someone needs to be taking care of. That is what I was raised to do take care of each other
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite Nanny moment is taking the children out just me and them for a special dinner something fun. Maybe to Burger King or McDonald's watching them play and letting him have whatever they want and spoiling them. Also when I am around them for a long time they kind of become like my family and I get very attached to them. I never ignore Christmas or birthdays I always like to buy them a gift or something will help them write a letter to Santa Claus and watch them opening something that they love. I also enjoy watching movies with them. Disney Plus. And I like doing snacks for the children. Anything that makes them smile
